Castlemaine House 7

Completed in 2020. The original house is a late Victorian weatherboard house located on one of the prominent hills that define the landscape of Castlemaine. The site has extensive long views to the south and west towards Mt Franklin. The project involves removing later additions and re-configuring the bathroom and living spaces to create a new entry, open the kitchen to the new dining and living space and connect the house to the garden. The addition is oriented to maximize the winter solar access, open the house to the long views as well views to the wooded gully to the east.
