Lyttleton House

This house is located within an easy walk of central Castlemaine with a unique bush outlook to Kalimna Park.  The site strategy involves placing the house on a single level taking advantage of the cross fall to create a carport under the western bedroom wing accessed via the existing crossover and driveway. A retaining wall at eastern side of the driveway creates the space for steps and a landscaped platform to access the entry deck. The placement of the living area in relation to entry deck and entry sequence creates connections to the street and the activity of the street as well as the northern deck. Landscaped terraces mediate the level change between north deck and natural ground to open the living, dining and kitchen zones to the garden to the north and views of Kalimna Park.
